It Could be Worse

My husband is constantly frustrated by the yarn and knitting projects that find their way into different parts of our home.  When we got our apartment about a year and a half ago, we got a 2 bedroom apartment so that our very large library (about 1000 books in all....many of them very large reference books) would have somewhere to live.  "My" space was the standard-sized closet in this room.  The rest of the room, however, is for the library.

Well, with the start of my indie dyeing career though the Cupcake Factory, my space needs for yarn and supplies has more than tripled since we moved in.  So my little corner doesn't quite contain everything.  All the time, anyway.  Especially if I'm in the middle of a dying project.  When I'm doing that, I often need to move the yarn out somewhere with good circulation to speed the drying process.  That, and I like to knit on the couch.  So I usually have at least one project hanging out in the living room somewhere.

All that to say... if Joe were to list my top 3 most annoying-to-him habits I have, he would list letting my yarn and/or knitting and/or dying "take over the house" (he's a bit dramatic, this one) as one of the top 2.  Today, however, I saw I post on Joan McGowan Michael's blog that really makes me look like a saint.  "Yarn?" I say, "What yarn?"  Ha!  I've got nothing on The Fleece Artist.

Check out some of these pictures from Joan's Blog:

While I am totally inspired by this (the only thing that could make this image better is having some pet llamas and sheep out front), I realize a house or stand-alone studio like this simply isn't going to happen any time soon.  It also makes this:

(my latest batch of Buttercream yarn for my shop) look like NOTHING.  Nothing at all.

  1. LOL! This is funny. That's right. Maybe you should print out that picture and keep it on the fridge as a reminder regarding how little space you really do use... :) jk. Thanks for returning to your faithful readers!
