How I got $50 worth of FREE GROCERIES from Safeway delivered to my door

(these are my free groceries I got from Safeway...the Pepsi was full when it arrived. Joe got to it before I could take a picture)

I know what you're thinking. Too good to be true or sounds scammy (pop ups that say things like "Get a $1000 gift card to Walmart by clicking here!" run through my head when I hear outrageous claims on things like this.) But I saw it on the Hot Coupon Mamas blog, and I did it and it really works. Some of the coupons codes listed in the original post don't work anymore, and some amounts are wrong about the discounts, so I had a request to write up some simpler, updated directions.

Really, all it took was about 15 minutes (most of that was just picking out what I wanted on the Safeway website) and the next day, a Safeway delivery guy dropped off $52.72 worth of groceries (plus a case of water and a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi) that I paid $13.86 out of pocket
for...but I will be getting a $18 rebate check from ShopatHome for my purchase. So at the end of the day, I'm making money. Love it!

How to Get $50 in Groceries from Safeway Delivered to Your Home for Free!

Step 1: Create an Account at the online rebate site Shop at Home by clicking here.
This is how you will get a $5 sign up bonus plus $13 rebate for shopping at Safeway.com. This is easy. It takes about 2 minutes.

Step 2: Do a search on the Shop at Home site for Safeway
Then click on the Safeway page, then the "Reveal Code" button. Click either one (this graphic appears twice on the page):
This will open up a new page that will bring you to Safeway's website.

Step 3: Click the "Free Delivery on Your First Order" graphic
This will bring you to a page where you can log in if you already have an online Safeway account
, or create a new account.

Step 4: Add at least $50 of Buy One Get one Free items to your shopping cart.
Click the "Buy One, Get One Free" link on the left side of the page.

Browse the categories, and add 2 each of any of the items you like to your cart. Have fun. you can always pare things back a bit before you check out. You'll notice that a lot of the online items are a bit overpriced...but you're going to get them for free, so don't sweat that part. You need your cart to total up to at least $50.

Step 5: Check Out
When you are going through the check out process, you will need to enter two coupon codes:
First: VALUPAK15 (this will give you $15 off your order)
Second: once you enter this code, they will generate a new one on the screen for you to enter in order to get free shipping.

At this point, it will look like your order costs about $35. BUT if you followed my instructions and added only B1G1free items, you will have an additional $25+ off (or half of the original price before you put in the $15 discount code) reflected on your final receipt when they deliver the items (your real receipt with the correct price on it). Plus Delivery will be free, so pick whatever time you want for them to deliver your groceries...even if it's a more expensive time slot.

As you are checking out, you may be presented with a statement that tells you that you need to have a total purchase of $50 or more after discounts to get your order delivered and if your order does not qualify, they will call you. I'm not sure if they don't actually care about the final amounts on your receipt or what, but my groceries got delivered just fine and I was only charged $13.86. PLUS, even though we hadn't added them to our cart, our delivery driver also brought us a case of water and a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi and said we got them because it was our first delivery order. I'm not sure if that is a regional thing, or if it's an unadvertised special.

THAT'S IT!

Now, sit back and wait for your groceries to arrive.

Just a bit longer for your rebate check to arrive, and you've got yourself some free groceries!

The coupon code listed above expires on Decemebr 31st, 2010 and you need to make sure your groceries are delivered by then, so don't delay on ordering these, even if you schedule your delivery for later in the week

Let me know in the comments if you have any issues with this so I can keep this post updated. Thanks and enjoy!
