Freschetta Simply Inspired Pizza & Giveaway

Are you guys a little bummed you didn't win a composter in the Earth day giveaway? Well, I've got another awesome giveaway to share with you, courtesy of the people at Freschetta. This one won't fill your garden with compost, but it will fill your tummy with tasty pizza!

Freschetta has a new pizza line out called FRESCHETTA® Simply…Inspired™ that features tons of veggies, artisan cheeses and high quality toppings (no mystery meat "peperoni" chunks here!). They've developed a new packaging system that locks in the flavor, keeps freezer burn at bay and uses about 30% less packaging material...which is pretty awesome considering how much packaging is produced by Americans' appetite for pizza each year.
I got a coupon to try one of these new pizzas for free and chose the "Harvest Supreme."  It has Italian sausage, olives, spinach, sundried tomatoes, red onions, basil as well as both mozzarella and feta cheeses.  Sounds yummy, doesn't it? And they definitely didn't skimp on toppings! Check out these other awesome flavors that they have:

We baked the pizza on our Pampered Chef pizza stone and it worked really well with the thin crispy crust. Even my husband, who isn't a big fan of crispy crust pizzas enjoyed the crust. The pizza tasted awesome and you could really taste the individual ingredients. And toppings were nice an chunky. Definitely more like  pizzeria toppings than the micro-diced toppings you tend to find on most frozen pizzas.

The one downside was that the pizza was a little on the small side (you can see it in comparison to the size of our pizza stone above). We had planned on just having the pizza for dinner but we would have done better to plan on having the pizza as a side along with soup and a salad in order to make a dinner-sized meal.

 

But nobody wants to just read about pizza, you guys want to try it, don't you?
