Fat Diggity Dog: Our first Fat Dog Farms sale round-up

The blog's been quiet lately because the first full week of June I was pouring all my spare time into getting ready for our first semi-annual Fat Dog Farms garden and craft show. Then the week after that I've been recovering!

We had a blast! Fat Dog Farms is my dad and step-mom's "farm" / very large garden / "wonder emporium" (as my cousins like to call it) a 35 minute drive outside of Portland, OR.  It's been something that's been talked about for a while but we finally organized (and when I say "we" I mean mostly Michelle with a teensy bit of help from me) a garden & craft sale with stuff from local crafters / gardeners and it was an absolute blast.


This is some of the stuff I personally made to sell at the sale:

A small assortment of natural wood toys that I made from kits. 

(also some terracota pots painted w/ chalkboard paint)

Framed chalkboards. These are $1 serving trays from Walmart that I primed with plastic fusion spray paint and then painted with chalkboard paint. (The silver one in front is on a metal tray I got from Dollar Tree and did a similar thing to)

 I am super proud of this hardware-less, quick assembly kids tent I made, too.  I've seen quite a few kid tents floating around the internet lately and this one is my own take on it (with inspiration from this one from Cakies and this one from Ana White). For the cover, I used 2 twin flat sheets ($5 each) that I spliced together. The two sheets gives enough fabric for 2 tent covers with leftovers. WAY less than fabric by the yard because you need about 3 yards and doing it this way comes out to about $1.66 per yard. PLUS if you use the side seams of the sheet, all of the raw edge finishing has already been done for you - saving you more time and thread. More detailed post on this to come.
